Description: Sweeping indoors to keep floors clean was a part of chores in many French Colonial households. The broom was a short stick made from wood, and the bottom part consisted of straw tied together with a band. This particular soundscape takes place inside the parlor of the Bolduc-LeMeilleur house. The house was built in 1820 and served as the residence for Rene and Agatha LeMeilleur.
